If your missing teeth are causing embarrassment, let our understanding team talk to you about the option of dental implants. We can replace your missing tooth or teeth with strong, secure, long-lasting dental implants. Dr. Colleran will restore the appearance and function of your teeth with strong, secure, and beautiful dental implants.
What is a dental implant?
Dental implants are tooth root substitutes that are surgically attached to the jawbone. Once secure, a fabricated tooth is fixed securely to the part of the implant that is above the gum line.
Implants look and feel so close to a natural tooth, no one will suspect it is an implant.
Dental implants are fixed and therefore are not removed for eating or cleaning like you would with some dentures or partials.
What is the process like?
First, Dr. Colleran will examine your mouth and make sure you are a healthy candidate for implants. As part of the assessment he will take a 3-D scan of your mouth, neck, and face. The 3-D images allow Dr. Colleran to know exactly how much bone is present and if implants can work for you.
If you are approved, you will be scheduled for at least two surgical visits. During your first visit, the root implant will be placed. Utilizing the 3-D images, Dr. Colleran can guide the surgical procedure of implant placement with the highest level of precision.
For the next few months the implant will bond with the jawbone. Once the implant has healed and bonded with the bone, the fabricated tooth will be attached.
